Our Art and Philosophy
We know how it feels to be on the receiving end of the “buzz.” Getting
tattooed should be a great experience. Whether it’s your first
or fiftieth tattoo; everyone that walks through our doors will receive respect,
personalized service, and professional guidance. With our appreciation
for the many techniques and styles of tattooing, the sky (well, and maybe your
wallet) is the limit. Our top goal is to give you a unique piece of art
that you will love forever.
You put a tattoo on yourself with the knowledge that this body is yours
to have and enjoy while you're here. You have fun with it, and nobody else
can control what you do with it. –Don Ed Hardy
Please bring your ideas into the shop for consultation. Any resources
such as a photograph, picture from a book, internet resource, and even napkin
art will help your artist determine the best design, size, and placement.
Pricing
If you are going to get a tattoo, get the best…it’s on forever! GOOD
tattoos are not cheap…and CHEAP ones are not good. –Sailor
Jerry Collins
If you want to bargain shop your undies that’s up to you, but we agree
with Sailor Jerry. Rock bottom pricing has its perks but NOT when it
comes to tattoos. That “sweet deal” out of someone’s
basement might turn out differently than you had anticipated- and not in a
good way. We offer permanent art at a reasonable price. We
hope that you will consider your health, the permanence of a tattoo, and the
caliber of your artist when making a final decision.
Only after a personal consultation is a price quote given. Phone quotes
are not a part of the artistic process.
Sterilization
I dropped my pants in a tattoo parlor in Amsterdam. - Angelina Jolie
Sterilization is always at the forefront of our minds. We wouldn’t
ask anyone to drop their pants if it wasn’t. All our equipment
is 100% hospital sterilized and lab equipment is tested monthly. Every needle
is single use, no exceptions. We are licensed by the state Health Department
and run a squeaky clean operation.
Aftercare
We have mingled our method with the late, ever great,
Sailor Jerry’s.
- Keep bandage on for a minimum of two hours for a small
area, 24 hours for a large area. After that, gently wash with soap
and water until it does not feel slimy. Dry it well with a clean towel
and/or blow dryer on cool setting. DO NOT re-bandage.
- Keep
tattoo clean and DRY. You may wash it when you bathe
but do not keep in wet for too long. You do not want the scabs, if
any, to get soggy.
- Do not use any greasy ointments on your tattoo at any
time. This
actually hinders quick and proper healing. After scabs have formed and the
tattoo is completely dried out you may use a LIGHT amount of water based
lotion just to keep the itching from driving you crazy. Itching means
healing…that’s
a good thing.
- Do not pick the scabs! It will pull
your ink out and mess up the tattoo.
- Do not go swimming until the tattoo is completely healed. If
you do, infection is guaranteed. If you wouldn’t drink the water,
don’t put it on your tattoo.
- Your artist had done his best to build you a good tattoo,
but remember it takes both of us to make the final product as perfect as
it should be.
- Drop around and have your tattooer check their work as it heals. And
be sure to sign the record book in the shop. This places the responsibility
of clean work on your tattooer.
